The city of Honolulu

Walking down Kalakahua Avenue you'll find gorgeous, fragrant flowers.

Bird of Paradise - native to South Africa
Pink Hibiscus - It is believed that there were originally only five hibiscus species native to the Hawaiian islands.
Walking along the Hawaiian Hilton Resort Village, which you can get to from Waikiki beach is amazing to see!! Lots of birds and mammals (penguins, turtles, flamingoes too) to watch and listen too.  All free of charge for tourists.

The city of honolulu

The city of Honolulu is really quite special - despite the hustle & bustle I still felt like I was on a tropical island.

The great view of Diamond Head Crater and the backdrop of fancy hotels that I could never afford to stay at along with the palm trees is spectacular!!

I can't wait to go back!

Hawaii's State Flower - the Yellow Hibiscus

Waikiki Prince Hotel

I searched for a low budget place to stay a few nights as we traveled the Hawaiian Islands. Luckily I found the Waikiki Prince and would highly recommend this to others!!! I even had a view of the Pacific Ocean and Waikiki beach!!! $60/night during the month of August !

Not only did we have a delightful Hawaiian stay but the service was fantastic and very friendly !!!

BOOGIE BOARDING

We went back to this crazy beach where all the locals go to boogie board! The first time we were there there was an ambulance sitting there.  Of course it's a no swim zone due to it's crazy tidal forces.

Here are some pictures.  Please enjoy them as much as I do!!!

A Hawaiian Honeymoon

It's been almost two years ago now that we travelled to the island of O'ahu for one week to set the stage for our honeymoon.  Who would have thought we'd be going back to this magical island? I still can't believe it!

Thankfully, our aunt Sus gave us the opportunity as a wedding gift to choose a place to go via her timeshare!! Many thanks to Aunt Susan!  We are so happy to have had this experience!!

We looked and looked on line for a timeshare suitable to our needs and wants.  Unfortunately, we just couldn't find the "right" place to visit during August 2009.

It was nearing May or even June, that I tried calling the timeshare company to see if they could offer us a little help.  Low and behold the customer service representative checked our vacation dates (week of August 10 - August 28) and offered us a condominium in Kauai!!!!

I was really surprised and couldn't believe it! Of course I booked the timeshare right away over the phone.  Man oh man.....we were EVER LUCKY!!!!!
